Carl is an experienced ecologist with over 12 years of professional experience in local government and private sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management from the University of Auckland.
Carl spent over 10 years with Auckland Council in progressively senior roles, where he acted as ecological subject matter expert for resource consents, plan changes, and notices of requirement. He has provided expert evidence at hearings and Environment Court proceedings, and led threatened species projects for herpetofauna and freshwater fish. Carl has designed and managed ecological surveys across terrestrial, freshwater and wetland environments, and brings practical expertise in ecological impact assessments, streamworks, and ecosystem restoration.
Carl is a certified hearings commissioner and is passionate about communicating complex ecological information clearly to varied audiences.
